Betway's Claims​

In a recent marketing campaign, Betway claimed to have the fastest withdrawals in South Africa. That's an extremely bold claim, given that some local bookmakers process withdrawals instantly. We thought we would give them a shot and test their claims of having the fastest withdrawals in SA.

Betway made claims for:

1. Faster Bet Payouts and Withdrawals.
2. Getting your winnings in record time.
3. The fastest withdrawals in the country.

We tested their claims​

We submitted at least 3 withdrawals over 2 days to test their bold claims. Withdrawals were made via the standard EFT option (Bank to Bank).

Test Results​

Withdrawal 1​

• Initiated: Thursday Afternoon at 16:50
• Received: Friday Morning at 07:46
• Time Taken: Over 14 Hours

Withdrawal 2​

• Initiated: Friday Morning at 09:08
• Received: Friday Afternoon at 15:05
• Time Taken: 6 Hours

Withdrawal 3​

• Initiated: Friday Evening at 23:16
• Received: Saturday Afternoon at 12:42
• Time Taken: Over 13 Hours

Our Verdict​

As pointed out above, we tested withdrawal speeds at 3 different times: morning, afternoon, and evening. In all three scenarios, Betway failed to live up to their claims of having the fastest withdrawals in South Africa. Based on our testing, Betway ranks as one of the slowest payers in South Africa.

Who Actually Pays Fast?​

10bet South Africa is our pick for the fastest paying bookmaker in South Africa. In all honesty, 10Bet does not pay INSTANTLY, but withdrawals are always received within 15 to 20 minutes like clockwork - irrespective of the day or time.

Soccershop South Africa​

Soccershop is another one of our picks. Withdrawals of R500 or less are INSTANT through Wallet Doc or Ozow, whilst larger withdrawals are processed within the hour. An exception would be the early parts of the morning, where withdrawals are processed once the payments team is in office.

Important Disclaimer​

While our tests were limited to one bank account, we asked forum member @Fiekie247 to conduct similar tests using a different bank. His results showed an average of 4 hours per withdrawal - far from the speed Betway promises.

You are right, their average withdrawal processing is around 4 - 6 hours. I sometimes make withdrawals during the day or at night, and when we refer to instant or fastest, then I would say 5 minutes or less falls into that category.

My experience is as follows

10bet - 15 minutes or less bank or e-wallet withdrawals
Betshezi - I made my first withdrawal to e-wallet and the took 5 minutes to pay. This was on a Sunday morning. Withdrawal submitted at 8 am, and it was paid at 08:05 am.
Hollywoodbets - They are currently the fastest. Less than 5 minutes
Soccershop - R500 or less takes 1 minute, more than R500 took 2/3 hours.
Yesplay - a few hours, they process withdrawals twice a day, morning and afternoon.
Playabets - 30 minutes, if I remember correctly, last time
Lulabet - Same Day

I will be testing more local casinos and will update the thread accordingly with my personal experience.
